Alcaidesa, on the western Costa del Sol, between the municipal districts of La Línea and San Roque very close to the Sotogrande and Valderrama golf courses.

The new course designed by Dave Thomas offers a variety of natural landscapes. Designed as a heathland type course, its layout is divided into three different areas: the plateau area (holes 1 to 5 & 17th & 18th) where the course has the feel of a Heathland course with wide fairways & outstanding views of the Mediterranean sea & the local mountain ranges, including Sierra Nevada, The river valley where the holes meander along the valley & incorporate various water features/hazards, and the third area that provides more movement to the course.

The course has an uninterrupted 18-hole round beginning at the first hole by the Clubhouse and not returning to the latter until the 18th, also located by the Clubhouse. The difficulty on the course mainly concerns the prevailing winds in the area.
